ADRIAN, Mich. - Adrian College's Jared Semple was one of 40 players from 32 schools selected for the First Annual American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 1 All-Star Game. The event will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Penn State Ice Pavilion in University Park, Pa. Since its inception in 1999, American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division 1 has grown to 54 teams and approximately 1,300 student-athletes. Semple, a junior from Canora, Saskatchewan, was the captain of the inaugural Adrian College ACHA men's Division 1 team. He finished the season with 22 goals and 12 assists in the team's 36 games this season. The Bulldogs were ranked as the #24 team in ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey for much of the season while picking up big wins against higher-ranked opponents from 2007 national champion Oakland, West Virginia and Central Oklahoma. Semple is one of just seven Canadians named to the first-ever All-Star squad. Tony Aukskalnis was also an All-Star Nominee but was not selected. Mark Eberline was nominated for the ACHA All-Academic team. Formal announcement of all ACHA awards, including All-Academic teams, will be made public in a few weeks. |
