James Larson has been named the head track & field and cross country coach at Adrian College. Before completing his master's degree in physical education from Springfield, Larson gained experience as the head cross country coach at Chippewa Falls McDonell High School, Wisc. (2003), an assistant women's track & field coach at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire (2003-05). He also spent one year as an assistant women's cross country and track & field coach at Springfield (2005-06). A 2003 graduate of UW- Eau Clare, Larson excelled on the trails and track. He was named an NCAA All-Midwest Region athlete in cross country and was also an NCAA Division III Championships qualifier. In 2001, he was an All-American in indoor track and was named an All-WIAC performer in '00 and '01. Larson commented on his new post at Adrian College. "I am extremely excited to be taking over the Bulldog track & field and cross country programs. This is an exciting time in terms of the new track being completed on campus and a growing squad in cross country. My goal is to make our programs competitive on the national level. We have talent already on campus and I plan to add some great student athletes through recruiting." |
