GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- The Adrian College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Calvin College Knight Invitational on Saturday. Both squads placed tenth in their respective races. The men's team averaged a time of 28:25.40, while the women's average time was 21:42.40. The nationally-ranked hosts of Calvin College won both the men's and women's events, averaging a time of 25:14.40 in the men's race and 18:14.60 in the women's race. Sophomore Joseph Hart led the way for the men's team, finishing the race in 27:06.00. Bob Palmer, Bryan Cicerchi, Jay Yockey, and Tim Storm were the other scoring finishers for the Bulldogs on Saturday. On the women's side, Meghan Lohr was the first Bulldog harrier to cross the finish line at Calvin with a time of 20:56.00. Liesle Travis and Laura Farnsel turned in times of 21:19.00 and 21:20.00 respectively, and Kelly Griffin and Jeanine Carpenter also finished in the top five for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will next compete on Saturday, September 22 at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Tri-State University. |
