Aaron Klotz enters his ninth season as a member of the Adrian College coaching staff, working with the infielders and outfielders producing the overall defensive package. A full-time coach at Adrian from 1999-2006, Klotz will move into a volunteer coaching spot with Bulldogs this season. A native of Jackson, Mich., Klotz graduated from Lumen Christi High School in 1994 and continued his education at Adrian. Under Klotz's direction in 2005 the Adrian College Bulldogs set a new school record for fielding percentage and ranked 16th in the nation for total defense. During the 2005 and 2006 season's Klotz helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back MIAA championships and appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Klotz started for four years at second base for Coach Rainey from 1995-98 and was first team All-MIAA his junior year. He was also voted the MIAA's MVP in 1997. His greatest honor was in '97 when he was named to the first team All-MidEast team as selected by Rawlings. He recently ranks in the top three in several Adrian College offensive categories. During Klotz's four-year career the Bulldogs broke the single-season wins mark three times. He also started for three years at defensive back on the football team. Klotz was a two-time first team All-MIAA pick his junior and senior years. He was also tabbed as a pre-season All-American choice by the Sporting News heading into his senior year on the gridiron. He currently ranks first in pass break-ups in a career (31) and fifth in interceptions in a career with (11). In his senior year, Klotz led the Bulldogs to the MIAA title, while collecting All-American honors. The two-sport captain graduated from Adrian in '98 with a degree in health, physical education and recreation with an emphasis on teaching. During the summer time Klotz is the head coach for the Adrian American Legion Post 275 baseball team. Klotz who is a Program Manager at Venchurs Inc., is married to Alison Eggly '99. The two reside in Adrian with their four year old son Logan and one year old daughter Alexis. |
