Stats

CROOKSTON, Minn. - Eric Miller scored his second-consecutive hat trick as nine different Bulldogs registered goals in a 14-2 routing of Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday afternoon.

The balanced Bulldog attack took a commanding early lead and never looked back in Saturday's MCHA match-up. Jeremy Klaver and Shawn Skelly scored just seconds apart less than five minutes into the game to put the Bulldogs up 2-0. Midway through the period, Eric Miller scored his first goal of the night on a power play opportunity to push his consecutive games scored mark to seven straight. The Golden Eagles converted a power play chance into a goal on a Bill Horton goal with 4:42 left in the first period.

In the second period, Sam Kuzyk registered back-to-back goals for the Bulldogs at 2;18 and 7:10 for the 5-0 advantage. Miller then scored his second goal of the evening on another power play for the Bulldogs at the 11:44 mark. Matt Marchel would score the second and final Golden Eagle goal of the game with 4:24 left in the second period to cut the Bulldog lead to 6-2, but the home team would get no closer. Miller completed the hat trick on a short-handed effort 1:26 before the second intermission for the team's seventh goal on the night.

The Bulldogs then continued their offensive outburst in the third when they lit up the scoreboard for seven goals in the final frame. Quinn Waller got things going in the third with a power play goal of his own 8:30 into the period. Kyle Watson made the game 9-2 just 32 seconds later for the Bulldogs. Just over two minutes later, Adam Krug tallied the tenth goal of the game for the visitors for the eight goal advantage. Chris Stansik got in on the scoring action at the 13:24 mark in the third period. Krug added his second goal of the game less than two minutes after Stansik's goal. Mike Towns and Bobby Hineman both added goals in the final four minutes of the game to give the Bulldogs the 14-2 victory.

Bryan Scott picked up his third win in goal, making 16 saves in over 51 minutes of playing time before Jeremy Cross came in to close out the game. The Bulldogs out-shot the Golden Eagles by a 66-20 margin and converted on 5-of-9 power plays to Minnesota-Crookston's 1-of-5 effort on the day.

Adrian improves to 14-3-0 (11-1-0 MCHA) on the year and moves into sole possession of first place in the league with Marian's 5-4 loss to Finlandia on Saturday. The Bulldogs will next host the Northland College LumberJacks on January 25 and 26 at Arrington Ice Arena.
