MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Adrian College men's ice hockey program has been a major story all season long bringing a lot of buzz to the college and setting records in all facets both in the conference and nationally. The players that have made all this happen were rewarded on Friday night at the MCHA at their annual banquet hosted by the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Junior captain Adam Krug has been stellar all year and led the conference with 56 points, which set a single-season record. He currently has 76 points on the season and has scored 30 goals with 46 assists. Krug also was named MCHA All-Academic proving he leads by example both on and off the ice. Freshmen Eric Miller, Shawn Skelly, Chris Stansik, Quinn Waller and Brad Fogal also were named MCHA All-Conference as the Bulldogs dominated the postseason awards with good reason. Miller, also named MCHA All-Freshman, led the conference with 28 goals and after scoring twice in yesterday's 5-3 win over MSOE now has 39 goals on the season. He has totaled 68 points in 27 games played and led the conference with nine power-play goals. Skelly earned MCHA All-Freshman honors as well and possesses one of the hardest and most accurate shots in the league. Skelly notched 55 points in the MCHA as he and Krug battled for the points lead most of the season. He scored 21 goals in the conference and has 30 goals on the year. Stansik played great on defense for the Bulldogs and totaled 26 points in 20 conference games. He scored eight goals and assisted on 18 more tallies for the Bulldogs. Stansik has 34 points on the year and has five power-play goals. Waller was named to the MCHA All-Freshman squad and helped patrol in the blueline with Stansik. He led all defensemen with 36 points in the conference and had five goals and 31 assists. Waller scored four of his five goals on the man-advantage and this season has 46 points. Fogal was one of the top goaltenders in the MCHA also earning All-Freshman plaudits. He went undefeated between the pipes (14-0-0) with a 1.70 goals against average and posted three conference shutouts. Fogal made 326 saves and posted a .934 save percentage in his starts. Sophomore Rob Hodnicki also received MCHA All-Academic honors joining Krug on the list. He has shown steady improvement during the season and has seven points on the year. |
