Bulldogs in hockey news on November 19

Nov. 20, 2007

With the continued success of both varsity hockey teams this season, the women's team and Adam Krug have received honors following this past weekend's competitions.

In the national rankings conducted by USCHO.com, the Adrian College women's hockey team was tabbed as the #10 team in NCAA Division III hockey in Monday's poll. The appearance in the top 10 comes after splitting with the current #9 team from the University of Wisconsin - Superior at home this past weekend.

For the third time in four weeks, junior Adam Krug, captain of the men's varsity squad, was named an MCHA Player of the Week. In a weekend sweep of Finlandia University, Krug netted the game-winning goal on Friday night while also adding an assist in the 7-3 win. On Saturday, the Livonia, Mich. native led the Bulldogs back from a 2-0 deficit by having a hand in all four goals, scoring twice and assisting the other two.

Additionally, Krug and teammate Shawn Skelly are currently tied with each other for the most points in NCAA Division III hockey with 18 points. Fellow Bulldog Eric Miller is right behind the two with 17 points on the season.
