Adrian Wins First-Place Battle; Marian Keeps Pace With Sweep
Three teams in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association entered play last weekend with just one loss and a 5-1-0 mark. Two survived, thanks to Adrian 's sweep of MSOE and Marian's sweep of Concordia to both improve to 7-1-0 in league play and find themselves in first place.

The Bulldogs won, 5-1, Friday and 4-0 Saturday to record the sweep, while the Sabres recorded wins of 4-1 Friday and 5-2 Saturday. Finlandia moved into third place after a sweep of Minnesota-Crookston, improving to 6-2-0 with 5-2 and 3-6 victories. Lawrence took a pair of games from Northland, getting a come-from-behind, 4-3, win Friday and a 4-0 decision Saturday.

The league will take a break from conference play from now until January 11, 2008. Included in the list is a battle between MSOE and current No. 1 St. Norbert's and Marian taking on current No. 6 UW-River Falls Jan. 4.
