DEFIANCE, Ohio - The men's tennis squad pulled out a 5-4 win at Defiance College on Monday afternoon for their third win of 2008. The Bulldogs had a very strong showing in doubles play dropping just eight games en route to a quick 3-0 lead in the match.

Chris Ludwig and Dominic Merollis improved to 6-8 overall in dual matches at one doubles with an 8-0 win over Tim Kurtz and Adam Fausey. Blake Childs and Kyle Austene got another point at two doubles with an 8-4 win over Austin Kleman and Joe Caig. Orlo Yeagley and Jeff Kennard teamed up for their second win together in three tries at three doubles in an 8-4 win over Lachmon Bratton and Aaron Cottos.

The singles play proved to be a bit rocky for the Bulldogs who hung on to win two matchups. Kennard made quick work of Cottos 6-4, 6-0 at six singles improving to 3-2 in singles. Merollis was the last match on the court and truly outlasted Fausey to the tune of 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 in a matchup where conditioning played a big factor. Merollis picked up his third singles win of the season in the process.
