VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Sophomore Kim Olech was named to the all-tournament team on Saturday evening after posting a double-double for the Bulldogs in a 68-66 consolation win over Ursinus (Pa.). Olech had 11 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for Adrian. Jennifer Perrin came off the bench to lead Adrian with 12 points. She was 4-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-4 at the foul line in 23 minutes. All 10 players for Adrian scored in the contest as the Bulldogs won the game benefitting from a 35-4 scoring advantage in bench points. Adrian and Ursinus played a close game throughout as Adrian only had one double-digit lead with 8:24 left in the game. Ursinus cut the Adrian lead to one point on three separate occasions in the final five minutes but the Bulldogs never gave up the lead. Ashley McClarren's layup with 13 seconds left gave Adrian a four-point cushion and sealed the win for AC. McClarren finished the game with six points and seven rebounds. Adrian shot the ball much better in game two on the season going 27-of-57 (.474) including 52.2 percent shooting in the second half. Rita Carter also had a fine game for Adrian with six points and a team-high eight assists. |
