ADRIAN, Mich. - Brittany Maffesoli scored an early goal and Lindsay Chitwood had a hat trick to give the Adrian Collge women's soccer team the 4-0 win over Tri-State University. The Bulldogs needed just over three minutes to get on the scoreboard as Brittany Moreau found Maffesoli for the game's first goal. Two and a half minutes later, Chitwood scored her first goal of the game, getting the ball from Sarah Evans. Chitwood added her second goal of the day on a penalty kick 17:27 into the game and the Bulldogs took the 3-0 lead into halftime. Chitwood would round out the scoring for the game and pick up the hat trick when she converted Kalie Newman's pass for the Bulldogs' fourth goal in the 58th minute. Amanda House picked up the shut out, notching three saves on the day. Adrian, now 4-6-1 and 1-1-0 in the MIAA, are in action next when they travel to Calvin College on Wednesday, October 3 for a 5 p.m. start. |
