Kristina Schweikert has been named the head softball coach at Adrian College. The Rochester, N.Y. native takes over the helm of the Bulldog softball program after serving as an assistant coach at Siena Heights University.

Schweikert brings a wealth of experience to Adrian College. A four-year letterwinner at Tiffin University (Ohio), Schweikert earned numerous accolades for her career with the Dragons as a first baseman and center fielder. She was named First Team All-Conference in 2004, 2005, and 2006. In her senior season alone, Schweikert was tabbed AMC Player of the Week, First Team All-Region, First Team NFCA All-American, First Team NAIA All-American, First Team Academic All-American, and AMC North Player of the Year. Over her career with the Dragons, Schweikert broke several records including single season and career marks for walks and runs.

While serving as an assistant coach at Siena Heights University, Schweikert helped coach two All-Conference players and three NAIA Scholar Athletes. In addition to her coaching experience with the Saints, Schweikert has been a coach for young athletes at the National Youth Sports Program in Rochester, N.Y. and the Lemoyne College summer camps in Syracuse, N.Y.

When asked to comment on her new position as the head coach of the Adrian College softball team, Schweikert responded, "I am very excited to be joining Adrian College and the softball program at this time. There are many positive changes happening around campus. I look forward to the improvements to the softball facilities and how they will help build up our team."

Schweikert graduated from Tiffin University in 2006 with a bachelor of arts in business administration with a concentration in sports management. She is currently pursuing a master of arts in leadership with a concentration in organizational leadership from Siena Heights University.
