ADRIAN, Mich.-- The Adrian College volleyball team defeated the Tri-State University Thunder 3-2 (30-25, 21-30, 30-28, 21-30, 15-9) on Thursday evening. Jenny Carlson and Lindsey Eshelman paced the Bulldogs with 16 and 14 kills respectively. Samantha Mercy led all Bulldogs with 23 digs. The big story of the night, however, was that senior middle hitter Sara Morningstar broke the Adrian College career block record with her seven block (three solo, four block assist) night. The Thunder were led by a 28 kill effort by Tia Roberts and a 22 kill effort by Sallie Richardson. Erica Bednarski had a game-high 30 digs in the loss for Tri-State. The Bulldogs improve to 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the MIAA and will travel to Olivet College on Saturday for a Triangular with Olivet and Kalamazoo. The Bulldogs will take on the host Comets at 11 a.m. and then face the Hornets at 1 p.m. |
